Basic Instrumentation course

Cost: $2895/student
Length: 4 days

The Basic Instrumentation course starts by providing maintenance and engineering personnel with a review of instrumentation technologies, terminology, and symbols needed to work in the field. Understanding P & IDs and basic wiring techniques are  covered along with instrument outputs. Students will be exposed to a variety of instruments, including; Level, Flow, Pressure, Temperature, and Control Valves. Students will participate in a troubleshooting workshop and conduct loop check outs. The course combines classroom and hands-on training on the GCTI Advanced Process Training Units with online instrumentation and controls

Calibration course

Cost: $2495/student
Length: 4 days

This Calibration Course starts by providing maintenance and engineering personnel with a basic understanding of numerous pressure and temperature technologies. This basic portion will focus on concepts applicable to virtually any manufacturer’s equipment as well as skills needed to set up and maintain such equipment. Introductions and lectures on the technologies will be followed with in-depth demonstrations and hands-on training exercises. The course combines classroom and hands-on training on the GCTI Advanced Process Training Units; a full scale working process skid with on-line instrumentation and controls.

Coriolis Mass Flow course

Cost: $1295/student
Length: 1 day

This Coriolis Mass Flow Course will start by providing maintenance and engineering personnel with a basic understanding of the Coriolis principle. This basic portion will focus on concepts applicable to virtually any manufacturer’s equipment. Following this introduction, the course will proceed with in-depth training on density and concentration measurements. The course combines classroom and hands-on training at the GCTI Advanced Process Training Units with online instrumentation and controls

Electrical Controls and Troubleshooting course

Cost: $2895/student
Length: 4 days
The Electrical Controls and Troubleshooting course will cover safety first, then OSHA Requirements regarding troubleshooting and qualified persons. Then, the following topics are addressed: Start/Stop Circuits, HOA (Hand Off Automatic) Wiring, Permissive and Interlock Circuits, Relay Logic vs PLC Logic, Transformer Wiring, and Wiring Schematics.
The course will then describe using electrical drawings for troubleshooting and using electrical meters to perform circuit measurements. Finally, the course will cover how to develop a logical, systematic approach to troubleshooting.

Electrical Safety for Qualified Electrical Workers course

Cost: $795/student
Length: 2 days

Flow Measurement course

Cost: $2895/student
Length: 3 days

This Flow Measurement course is divided into two parts. The first part provides maintenance and engineering personnel with a basic understanding of numerous flow technologies. This basic portion will focus on concepts applicable to any manufacturer’s equipment. Following this introduction, the course proceeds with in-depth training on magnetic and Coriolis flow meters. Next, this course will proceed into the advanced flow course. This advanced course will start with in-depth training on vortex, magnetic, ultrasonic, and Coriolis flow meters. The course combines classroom and hands-on training on the GCTI Advanced Process Training Units with online instrumentation and controls.

Interface Level Measurement course

Cost: $2095/student
Length: 2 day

This Interface Level Measurement Training Course will start by providing maintenance and engineering personnel with a basic understanding of level measurement technologies best suited for interface level measurement. DP Level and Capillary measurement techniques. Following this introduction, the course will proceed with in-depth theoretical and hands-on training on both DP Level and Capillary measurement techniques. This will include intensive hands-on experience in instrument configuration of each of these technologies. The Advanced Interface configuration portion of the course includes optimization techniques for accurately determining interface level in 2 fluid applications, specifically on oil and water combinations. Following the Advanced configuration exercises, the course looks deeper at interface measurement troubleshooting techniques to complete the interface training program. The course combines classroom and hands-on training on the GCTI Advanced Process Training Units with online instrumentation and controls and specifically on our separator training module.
